Unique antique Napoleon III perfume box from around 1860. This elegant travel set is crafted from black wood with refined brass inlay and contains two original, pristine crystal perfume bottles with square stoppers.
Such travel sets were essential in the 19th century for affluent citizens who wanted to carry eau de cologne or perfume while traveling. The box has been preserved beautifully and immaculately. Only the silk lining on the inside of the top lid shows normal signs of age. The bottom is gracefully lined with ocher yellow velvet.
